The idea for this site and its basic design are the outcome of many discussions between two sisters. We grew up in Central Ontario, and now live in different cities - about a 6 hour drive apart. We didn't begin to know each other well until we were adults and found that we had more in common than we thought as children. We are similar in many of our beliefs. We believe in positive self-expression, whether through the written or the spoken word, and try to live with this in mind in our family lives, relationships and working lives. We believe that the very act of putting thoughts and feelings into writing can help lead to understanding and acceptance of those emotions that are often not expressed, and yet need to be. We believe that the grief and sadness experienced in the loss of a loved person or the loss of a loved pet can often be overwhelming and very difficult to move beyond. Sometimes just writing feelings down for clarity and keeping them within ourselves is enough. At other times, we might feel the need to share our thoughts with other people. We can also experience a sense of peace from learning we are not alone and that others share in our feelings. We hope this site helps you express your feelings of loss or sadness in a positive manner. If it provides a way for you to free yourself from grief and move toward healing and acceptance, we will be pleased. Our aim is to be able to maintain this site with many options for people who wish to use it.
